(FEATURED) LawCareers.net - An introduction to neurodiversity

At the start of September, I was really pleased to be featured by arguably the most renowned website for aspiring lawyers LawCareers.net.

LawCareers.net is the go to for aspiring legal professions (solicitors, barristers, Legal Execs, you name it!). There is so much content on the site there is going to be something for everyone and something to answer pretty much any question you might have.

It features news, blogs, commercial awareness reports and stories and video content to digest. It also features content, including tips and stories, from recruiters and lawyers at all stages of their careers. It also features in-depth information about different firms and chambers, and the different practice areas.

It is truly an invaluable resource for any legal professional at any stage of their career.

I noticed that there wasn't much talk about neurodiversity, a topic which you know I am personally invested in, and it is important that it is included in diversity and inclusion schemes and initiatives.

I got in touch with the content team to broach this idea and I was told that it is something that their audience can certainly benefit from and can share on the LCN Says portion of the site where other writers and aspiring lawyers speak about things that are important to them and to the profession.

When writing the article, I broached it from 2 angles:

1) You can't be what you can't see. When training we have role models to look up to and be led by, so I hope to continue raising the profile of talented neurodiverse individuals in the profession

2) We are all different and therefore respond to different support measures. My journey is one of many unique journeys and I, like many others, benefit from different support measures to my colleagues. So I hope that by sharing a part of my unique journey, it can encourage others to start a conversation about the support that helps us to thrive.

At all points, the team were very helpful and a real pleasure to work with. So I'll hope to create another piece for the site very soon!

This is a big deal given how big and wide-ranging the audience is, and I'm very flattered that the team were happy to feature my piece. Please go and have a read for yourself!
